Music Therapy at Journeys
Through the process of creating music, singing, moving to music, playing instruments, writing, or listening to music in the therapeutic context, students’ abilities are strengthened and transferred to other areas of their lives. Music therapy provides avenues for communication that can be helpful to those who find it difficult to express themselves in words. Music therapy offers means for students connect with others, process and manage complex emotions, and explore creative self-expression. At Journeys, music is foremost a means of praise and prayer.
Music therapy occurs in a 1:1 session format, small groups, full classrooms for music enrichment, and interclass groups, particularly with our Women's Chorus.
